Library puts on rare show of old pictures
FASCINATING images of old Edinburgh, including work by early photography pioneers, is on display at a city library.
The collection of photographs and prints from Edinburgh Library Service's Capital Collections can be seen at Portobello Library until the end of the month.
It features work by 19th-century photographers David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson, as well as more recent images.
The city council's libraries leader Deidre Brock said: "With a focus on Edinburgh's social history and architecture, the archive can help people research family roots, learn about Edinburgh's history and maybe even unlock some hidden secrets."
