Trumping Alex

The saga surrounding Mr Donald Trump’s rhetoric and fight against the wind farm proposed for Aberdeen Bay rolls on (your report, 5 October).

We should have guessed that Mr Trump would threaten the Scottish Government with court action, as many people in America warned us from the very beginning of Trump’s association with the north-east that he would sue if at any time he became unhappy with the way proceedings were going.

Still, one thing to come out of all this is that we shall finally find out who rules the roost in Scottish affairs – the Trump ­Organization fronted by Mr Trump or the Scottish Government fronted by Alex Salmond.

Given what’s gone on before in connection with Mr Trump’s development at Menie, my money would be on Trump.
