Alan McKinney (Letters, 2 July) correctly highlights the misery of unwanted muzak. When John Connell founded the Noise Abatement Society in 1959 he wrote that “noise is the forgotten pollutant” in society. When will shop and restaurant owners realise that more people dislike muzak than like it?
