Political divide

The success of the Olympic and Paralympic Games could not have been achieved without extensive co-operation between the political parties. This was recognised by Labour and continued by the coalition.

Here in Scotland, cross-party support and co-operation appears to be a thing of the past. The Scottish Government is more intent in creating division with Westminster, whether it is with Labour or the coalition. Our First Minister abuses First Minister’s Questions to deride all opposition and his priority appears to be to entertain his own MSPs. This is contrary to the tradition of Prime Minister’s Questions from their inception in the televised format.

This is an insult to the Scottish electorate. A majority of those who voted collectively supported the Union parties. It would appear that a costly divorce takes greater priority than what is best for Scotland.
