Own goal on march tally

DAVID McLetchie simply demonstrates how out of touch he is with affairs in Scotland, like nearly all in his party, with his comment that the recent march through Edinburgh in support of independence attracted “less people than a struggling third division football team” (News, 23 September). The average attendance at the four third division football matches last Saturday was just under 600 so the march attracted at least eight times that number if not more.

He compounds his error as I don’t think I heard the word “separation” mentioned all day.
