Off track
It WAS so good to see such lovely countryside during the TV coverage of the men’s Olympic cycling road race. The organisers of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are going to be hard-pressed to find unspoilt countryside for their cycling race in 2014. The Scottish Government did not heed the advice of its own commissioned report on tourism and wind farms in 2008 to leave areas free of turbines and even Regional Parks are under threat.
Loch Lomond would have been a good choice, but look at the wind farm proposals there.
I cannot understand why a government putting nationalism to the fore is not protecting its greatest asset.
Why cannot the people of Scotland and their visitors enjoy beautiful countryside as do the people of Surrey?
