Not in the Neuk

Dura Den, the scene of recent flooding, is not in the East Neuk of Fife as you reported (13 October). It is situated three miles to the east of Cupar, and six or more miles west of St Andrews.

It is best known perhaps for its fossil fish dating back 350 million years.

At the present time what is remarkable is the friendliness and helpfulness of the whole community, local and regional councillors, and agencies such as Scottish Water and the electricity board, who have worked tirelessly to alleviate the situation.
