Loss of faith

The SNP has moved away from its vision of Scotland becoming an independent, military-
neutral socialist republic. Pragmatism, realism and maturity have meant vowing to keep the monarchy and now retaining membership of Nato. This is simply because few in Scotland would vote for independence without these guarantees.

However, the SNP has carelessly discarded Christianity’s greater and longer-term contribution to Scottish history, society and values. It has done so arrogantly and has not learned the lessons of the 20th century.
