Letter: Solo Scotland safe for the arts

Solo Scotland safe for the arts

Most of the current government funding for the arts in Scotland comes from the Scottish Government, its agencies and local authorities.

Lottery support will continue as the Lottery is a UK asset of which Scotland owns a share. In due course a Scottish Lottery, which will replace it, will continue and enhance support of the arts.

From a brief examination of Ms Cargill’s career it appears she has still to perform in stunning new opera houses in Copenhagen and Oslo.

If these countries can provide such facilities why does she have such a low opinion of what we can achieve with independence?
