Letter: Fight for fishing

IF Tory MSP Struan Stevenson MEP paid a little more attention to the job he has been delegated to do by Westminster, that is to represent the Scottish fisheries in the EU, there would be fewer trawlers being forced to tie up five days a week along our coasts.

Instead, week after week he insists on sticking his nose into the wind farm blades which will generate clean power and wealth to the Scottish nation as opposed to the dangerous nuclear power.

Nuclear waste is considered dangerous for thousands of years and to date there is no safe way to dispose of it.

The Scottish electorate will recall that it was another Tory prime minister, Ted Heath, who considered the fishing industry “expendable”.
