Letter: Tram delusions

Edinburgh councillor Donald Anderson appears to be living in a parallel universe, if his public statement earlier this week – that the installation of a, now very short, tramline will be worth the pain – is anything to go by.

In many respects his business case does not stand up to close scrutiny, even less so than when the proposed tram line was to have been twice the length and almost half the cost as is now the case.

Councillor Anderson obviously does not live in close proximity to the almost never-ending construction work.

He therefore does not have to endure the filth, pollution, general disruption and stress that those less fortunate have to endure.

Nor has he lost his livelihood as a consequence.
