Holy inaccurate

Your report (18 July) on the history of the tazza bowl was interesting but a little inaccurate.

You say that “according to legend it once belonged to Charles the Great, founder of the Roman Empire”.

Surely that was Augustus, first emperor of the Julio-Claudian line, based at Rome.

Perhaps you meant Charlemagne, first Holy Roman Emperor. The Austrian Habsburgs were the last family to bear that title in the 19th century.
