Free and fare

Maybe it is time to assess all our “free” services – free personal care, free pensioner bus travel and free prescriptions.

These are not free; they are all paid for by the taxpayer. Many pensioners pay tax, run cars and enjoy foreign holidays. Should we then expect them to pay bus fares?
This will be an unpopular question.

If governments persist
in these vote-winning
“freebies” without asking such questions we will be taxed to the hilt or living on a free never-ending unpayable SNP credit card.
