Faithful football fans win the day

YOUR Editorial (22 July) suggests that Our Dear Leader should have a word with his pal Rupert Murdoch and save Scottish football. Why? This whole fiasco is about men in suits, their egos, and monumental greed. Throw in bankers, politicians of any colour, G4S, John Terry et al, and you have one monumental tsunami of arrogance and incompetence across the land.

The only refreshing feature of all this mess is that it is the faithful football supporters who have won the day.

Football in Scotland has to go back to square one, the supporters have indicated that. Anything less will be a fudge. We will lose clubs for certain. But look to the long term future of the game. It can only climb out of the present abyss.

Roger Peart, Arbirlot, Angus
