End of debate
I HAVE now had the opportunity to read the SNP’s Yes Scotland leaflet in which the party states that Scotland contributes 9.6 per cent of the UK’s tax revenue. This claim includes income from North Sea oil and gas.
As we all now know Scottish gas prices are about to rise due, in part, to North Sea gas supplies running out. Oil stocks are also unsustainable. Why therefore do we need the next two years to debate independence when it is clear that Scotland will not be in a position to generate sufficient revenue to stand alone?
