While I welcome the fact that Brian Ferguson’s gloom-laden report (25 July) highlights that there are still some good seats available for this year’s Tattoo, his article misses the point.

The Tattoo is a huge ongoing success story for Edinburgh and Scotland, underscored by the fact that it has sold out these past 13 years, contributing some 
£88 million to the Scottish economy each year.

And with 88 per cent of tickets already sold for next month’s Tattoo that success seems likely to continue.
