Debate stifled

Nancy Clusker’s defence of the unborn was welcome (Letters, 26 September), but the whole abortion debate is stiffled by the feminist ire it generates.

The issue of the moral status of the unborn should be decided independently of its implications for the feminist cause. So long as many, including much of our secular liberal political and media elite, wish to usher in a feminist utopia where women’s careers are entirely unimpeded by the inconvenience of child-rearing, the delicate philosopical questions will be overwhelmed by vested interest.
