Belittled donkey

Those and “such as those” just love to give orders, don’t they, particularly at Christmas? Pope Benedict XVI – God bless his silken socks – has ordered that donkeys, oxen and other beasts should have no place in Nativity scenes as there is no scriptural evidence to support their presence at the manger when Jesus was born. I thought the whole point of the Christian religion – particularly the Roman Catholic sect – was the worship of an imaginary being for whose 
existence there is absolutely no evidence at all.
