DAVID McClements has been appointed treasurer of the Law Society of Scotland ahead of a summer that will see it tackle the level of its practising certificate.
The Russel + Aitken partner has served on the Society's council since 2001 and replaces incumbent Jamie Millar for a three-year term.
• IAIN M MacRae has been elected Dean of the Faculty of Procurators and Solicitors in Dundee, succeeding Johnston Clark in the role.
He is a civil litigation partner at Finlay MacRae Solicitors and was previously the vice-dean of the organisation.
• ROBERT Carr, the chairman of Anderson Strathern, has been appointed Prince Charles' Ambassador for Corporate Social Responsibility in Scotland.
Already a director of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and Scottish Business in the Community, Mr Carr is also a member of the Prince's Trust and was presented with the ambassadorial baton at the Scottish Business in the Community Awards for Excellence ceremony on Thursday.

A 10,000 arts programme for residents of children's homes in Aberdeen has received backing from McGrigors.
The firm has donated 5,000 to the Freshstart project, which will provide arts activities to youngsters aged between ten and 19, culminating in an exhibition at the city's Lemon Tree venue.

LORD Boyd and Professor Alan Page are among the speakers at the Scottish Public Law Group's annual conference being held at Glasgow University today.
Lawyers, academics and government representatives will also be joined by the first Scottish Public Services Ombudsman, Alice Brown.
• ONE of the Netherlands' top judges will speak on Dutch developments in alternative dispute resolution at a conference in Edinburgh on 22 June.
Machteld Pel will be joined by speakers including Minister for Community Safety Fergus Ewing and Law Society President Ian Smart at the event in the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
