Law plea after dog tragedy

A GRANDFATHER yesterday urged stricter laws on the breeding and distribution of dangerous dogs after a boy aged 13 months was mauled to death by a rottweiler.

Archie-Lee Hirst was being cared for by his aunt at his maternal grandparents’ house in Wakefield last December when their dog attacked.

After a verdict of accidental death was recorded at Wakefield Coroner’s Court, Archie-Lee’s paternal grandfather, Andrew Williamson, called for stringent laws and for all dogs to be muzzled.
