Launch of new Robert Louis Stevenson site
A NEW website dedicated to the life and works of Robert Louis Stevenson was due to be launched today by Edinburgh Napier University.
It is said to be the most comprehensive website of the author's works to date and gives access to lesser known but equally valuable literary works for the first time.
The website, which is being launched on Edinburgh-born Stevenson's birthday, is designed to make his literary achievements known to a wider audience.
The free online resource also gives an intimate glimpse into Stevenson's personal life, with gallery images and anecdotes on family, friends and major authors who influenced him.
Professor Linda Dryden, of the Centre for Literature and Writing at Edinburgh Napier, said:
"What isn't as well recognised is the tremendously eclectic and original back catalogue of work."
