Latest batch of social housing up for grabs
HUNDREDS of new social housing units will be made available in Midlothian over the next two years starting from April.
The next batch of houses to are to be made available in the second phase of Midlothian Council's major investment into social housing in the area.
By far the largest development is the 100-unit site on Cameron Crescent, Bonnyrigg, but there are another 299 units nearing completion in Mayfield, Newtongrange and Gorebridge.
Planning applications are currently being developed for Phase III sites in Bonnyrigg, Penicuik and Mayfield, while future planning applications for Phase IV are programmed to include more developments in Bonnyrigg and Penicuik, as well Loanhead and Dalkeith.
The first 12 units to be made available under Phase II will be let on Cameron Crescent from April, with a further 22 in May and larger roll out throughout the region in June.
