Lamb's House is ideal for museum
SIR Tom Farmer's call for a museum for Leith (News, April 21) could and surely should be integrated with the future of Lamb's House, whose present deplorable condition must concern every one interested in Scotland's architectural heritage.
None of the usual cliches and phrases can do justice to describing this wonderful building. The present planning proposals by EDI to convert the property to "executive" residential use will do nothing to ensure the long-term survival.
Leith has achieved much in its successful transition from mercantile centre to thriving 21st century image. This needs and deserves a focus and the future of Lamb's house should form a very important part of this focus.
