Labour of love care service is nominated for top award

A CARE company set up by a city woman who was moved by the experience of her grandmother has been nominated for a prestigious award.

The Bluebird Care city franchise was launched by 35-year-old Jane Perry a year ago, and has been listed as a finalist for the Scottish Care at Home Awards next week.

She said she and her mother had trouble finding adequate care for her gran and thus became her sole carers. Once she passed away Ms Perry was so moved she decided to set up her own care company.

"When my grandmother passed away I decided to set up a care service with a personal touch," she said. "We've gone from strength to strength in the last year. I believe it is our personal touch and flexibility that matters every time."
