Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd has told of his grief after his younger brother took his own life yesterday.

The star’s brother Scott, 27, was found dead by their mother at the family home in Auchinleck, Ayrshire.

Scott Boyd leaves behind a young son and a pregnant wife.

The former Rangers player Kris, 33, said the loss had left the family “utterly devastated.”

Speaking to the Scottish Sun he said; “He [Scott] obviously had issue in his life which none of us were aware of.

“I hope this raises awareness for those who are struggling with things in their life to ask for help if they need it.

“Unfortunately Scott wasn’t able to do that and the consequences were tragic.

The forward who was capped 18 times for Scotland added: “He was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone. He doted on his son and loved his wife deeply.”
