Koussa to be quizzed over Lockerbie
SCOTTISH prosecutors and police were today due to meet with Foreign and Commonwealth Office officials to discuss Libyan defector Moussa Koussa and the Lockerbie bombing.
The Crown Office and Dumfries and Galloway Police both want to speak to the former intelligence chief to see if he can shed further light on the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, on 21 December, 1988, in which 270 people were killed.
Both Koussa and his former deputy, Abdelati Obeidi, who last night flew into Athens for talks, played key roles in Libyan efforts to secure the release of Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, the only man ever convicted of the atrocity.
A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesman said: "FCO officials have been in contact with representatives of the Crown Office and Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary in connection with the Lockerbie bombing and will be meeting with them on Monday to discuss the situation concerning Mr Moussa Koussa further."
The Crown Office also denied yesterday that it had already met with Koussa in Scotland.
"Crown Office officials have not met with Koussa on any occasion to date," a spokesman said.
