Killer nurse is struck off
A SCOTTISH nurse who killed four elderly patients was struck off by the Nursing and Midwifery Council yesterday.
Colin Norris, 33, was jailed for life in March last year with a minimum term of 30 years after murdering the women in 2002.
The NMC professional conduct committee took just five minutes to decide he should be removed from the register at a hearing in central London.
Norris, formerly of Glasgow, gave the women fatal doses of the diabetes drug insulin while working at Leeds General Infirmary and the city's St James's Hospital.
He was convicted of four counts of murder and one of attempted murder following a trial at Newcastle Crown Court.
