Keith sings out to celebrate temporary reprieve for club
ANY Dream Will Do star Keith Jack is to take to the stage at a special night of celebration for the Prison Officers' Social Club in Longstone on Saturday.
The club has been fighting closure since the Scottish Prison Service announced it wanted to demolish the club so the Scottish Government could build social housing on the land.
Its demolition was originally scheduled for January 5, but protesters learned in December they would receive a six-month lease extension.
The club, set up to provide a safe haven for officers to socialise away from former Saughton prisoners, has become a popular social centre for the surrounding community. It was also where Mr Jack gave his first professional performance.
