THE weird and the wonderful took to the catwalk at London Fashion Week yesterday.
Some of the bizarre designs turned a few heads – as did the re-appearance of supermodel Karlie Kloss.
The 20-year-old walked the runway for Burberry after modelling for numerous designers at New York Fashion Week, which ended last week. The Burberry show is the biggest and most star-studded of the London collections, and Kloss expressed a wish to appear in it last February, telling Vogue: “I’d love to walk in Burberry this season; it’s one show I’ve never done.”
Unlike New York, Milan and Paris, designers in London do not always have the budgets to pay the world’s top models to appear for mere minutes.
Burberry – a brand with seriously big production values - is another matter however, and Kloss travelled from New York especially to model designer Christopher Bailey’s autumn/winter 2013-14 collection.
London’s five-day celebration of fashion finishes today.
