Jump in number of overseas tourists
The UK welcomed an increased number of tourists from overseas this spring.
In the first five months of this year, there were 11.59 million foreign visitors - a 6 per rise on January-May 2010 - and they spent 5.88 billion, according to the Office for National Statistics.
The number of overseas trips by Britons also rose by 6 per cent, to 20.11m.
