John teaches pupils to be star students

YOUNGSTERS in South Queensferry have chosen a star to be part of a new Scottish constellation.

With 2009 being the International Year of Astronomy (IYA), Dalmeny Primary School got involved with a project to create a new constellation.

Professor John Brown, the Astronomer Royal for Scotland and a renowned magician, visited the school with a mobile planetarium show. He also gave magic demonstrations of cosmic phenomena.

The new constellation will be launched at a "star party" at Glasgow Science Centre.
