Jenners break-in: Hunt for well-dressed thief

POLICE are on the hunt for a fashion-conscious thief who made off with large quantities of merchandise from an upmarket Edinburgh department store.

The man is said to have broken into Jenners on Princes Street in the early hours of this morning.

He then stole a number of items from the men's designer clothes section before making his exit.

Lothian and Borders Police confirmed they were looking for information after the robbery at the famous store.

A police spokesman said: "Police are investigating a break-in that happened at the Jenners store in Edinburgh at around 4.15am today.

"It appears that the suspect, who is male, broke in to the store from an entrance on Rose Street and made off with a number of goods.

"We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and noticed anything suspicious to contact police immediately."

Despite the theft, the store opened for business as usual on Monday morning, while a corner of the men's clothing department was cordoned off.

Management at Jenners did not wish to comment on the incident.
