January sale gets pre-Christmas start
DIY chain B&Q is to launch its January sale earlier than ever this year, on 17 December.
The event begins a week earlier than last year when the sale started on Christmas Eve.
Euan Sutherland, chief executive of B&Q and Kingfisher UK, said: "As a result of the tougher financial conditions, we're seeing more customers then ever opting to improve their homes, rather than moving.
"As a thank-you to all our DIY devotees we wanted to make sure that our January sale would be one worth talking about, with no gimmicks. It's our biggest-ever sale with price cuts across a wider range of products."
