Jack Vettriano adds weight to revamped Portrait Gallery
A SELF-PORTRAIT by the Scots artist Jack Vettriano will be displayed at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery when it re-opens in the autumn.
The Weight, which has been offered on long-term loan from a private collector, will be included in the collection when the gallery opens in November, following a 17.6 million renovation.
James Holloway, director of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, said: "Jack Vettriano is one of the world's best-known Scottish artists. I am delighted that his self-portrait will hang alongside the faces of the many other famous Scots in our collection."
Vettriano added: "This is a great honour and benchmark in my career."
