Jab drive for school-leavers

GIRLS aged between 16 and 18 who have left school will receive a letter inviting them to go for a cancer-preventing jab.

Currently, all schoolgirls are offered the HPV vaccine through their school and now NHS Lothian wants to widen the search to those in employment or at college.

The letters will inform recipients how to arrange the three-part vaccination programme.

The campaign has been launched to target as many teenage girls as possible.
