It's a Cannes do attitude for city film firms
TWO independent film companies from Edinburgh will be among 33 UK "indies" showcasing their work at a prestigious event in Cannes next month.
Ko Lik Films and Red Kite Animations are due to attend the annual Mipcom international trade show for TV and film producers, broadcasters and distributors for both the big and small screens.
It will give the firms an opportunity to show their work to an international audience, opening up potential new business partnerships.
Six film companies from Glasgow will also be attending the event and for the first time there will be a dedicated "UK indies pavilion".
Trade Minister Ian McCartney said: "The emergence of new international markets means UK programme makers must keep adapting their ideas to keep pace with changing audiences. It is crucial this happens as a thriving UK television industry can be a real boost to the economy."
