Israeli talk sparks demo

PROTESTS have been held at Edinburgh University outside a lecture by Israel's ambassador to the UK, Ron Prosser.

A group of around 100 people, including students, members of the local Palestinian community and the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign, met outside McEwan Hall on Tuesday night to protest about the event, hosted by the Edinburgh University Politics Society.

Despite heavy security measures, ten student activists entered the venue to lead a peaceful protest inside, which ended after about ten minutes.
