Is it 'psychopath' or 'cycle path'?

Tuesday August 14, 5.25pm

HAD a freaky last two days.

Everytime I walked across the Meadows, someone on a bike would ride past and yell "Psychopath!" at me. This, as you may well imagine, had a destabilising effect on me. Over two days I tried varying things. I changed the way I dressed, I changed my posture, I stopped killing people, but still: "Psychopath!". This is no way to treat an international guest, even if he is a colonial.

This morning Canadian genius comic Tony Law explained that I was walking in the wrong place and they were yelling "Cycle Path". I like Tony Law. I like Canadians. They are like Americans but without "the Jesus" or the weapons.

As a reward I went to see Tony's show, which conveniently is in the same room as me. MISTAKE. Did he only help me out so he could lure me into a darkened theatre and destroy my sense of self worth with his effortless comic and theatrical mastery? I was starting to think our show was good. Law smashed that illusion. His show has two (count 'em) live sausage dogs in it. (One of whom, Cartridge Davidson, is my pick for best actor on the Fringe).

I hate Tony Law. I hate Canadians. They are just Americans with ...maple...tings. Tomorrow I will see something so mind-numbingly shit that I will once again feel like the comedy God that I am. Oh yeah! This is my year baby...

Now, to cross the Meadows.....
