Iranian struggle denied
It is a shame and embarrassment for me, as an Iranian living in the European Union, to see that the freedom-loving Iranians who stand up for their rights and struggle for freedom and equality, are victims of dirty politics (your report, 23 December).
The members of the Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI) are the Iranian people's only hope of bringing democracy and peace to the nation, but they are marked as terrorists by the EU at the request of the Iranian regime.
The rule of law, even in Europe, has been broken several times to keep the PMOI on the list of banned organisations.
Although I have always been proud of our democratic system, I now doubt very much if this pride is well placed.
