Interview: Harry Connick Jr, Singer, pianist and actor

Who would attend your fantasy dinner party? I'd invite Louis Armstrong, Jesus and my mom. I'd eat whatever they were serving.

Who did you last text? My wife, to confirm the items on a grocery list. Exciting, right?

It's not cool but... I don't care about what's cool or not, I prefer to go with the flow.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given? To be on time and be nice to people.

What's the worst job you ever had? When I was 18 years old, I worked as a ticket collector at a theatre. I hated doing a nine to five job and was thankful to succeed in my music career after that.

Who is your favourite fictional character? Borat.

What are you afraid of? I worry about poor health.

Did you have a nickname growing up? It was Boomer. My sister named me that, because I'd bang my head on my crib as a baby.

What situations make you lose your temper? Fortunately, none.

What would your alternate profession be? I'd like to be a pro-

athlete, at any kind of sport.

What is always in your fridge? Blueberries and Schweppes Canada Dry.

If you could change something about yourself, what would it be? I'd like to have more patience.

If you could travel back in time, where would you go? I'd like to go to Louisiana in the 1600s. I'd like to see Native American Indians.

Saturday night or Sunday morning? I used to ask my uncle if it wasn't too early when he'd have a beer at 10am. He'd say "well, it's 5pm somewhere". I like that philosophy.

Who or what is the love of your life? My wife, Jill.
