Booze points blasted

SUPERMARKETS should not give customers loyalty points for buying alcohol, according to Lothian doctors.

They argued the system only encourages heavy drinking.

Dr Brian Keighley, chairman of the Edinburgh-based British Medical Association Scotland, said: "There is a need to send the right message."
