Internet: May the farce be with you
GOING DOWN A STORM

EVER WONDERED what happened in the Star Wars universe when the Empire wasn't blowing everything up? Well, here's a day in the life of a Stormtrooper. Brilliantly rendered – it could almost have come from the original movie – it shows us one trooper, fly-on-the-wall style, work his way through the day, harassing and shooting Jawas. Brilliant stuff, particularly where they have to deal Luke Skywalker's drunken relatives.
COEN HEADS

IT LOOKS as though, after a fallow period, the Coen brothers have hit a purple patch. Last year's No Country For Old Men was a real highlight for anyone wanting something other than the usual popcorn fodder but they seem to have taken a sidestep into the Fargo and O' Brother, Where Art Thou? territory with Burn After Reading. Apparently its plot concerns a disk containing the memoirs of a CIA agent ending up in the hands of two unscrupulous gym employees, who attempt to sell it. It could be a disastrous comedy of errors in the wrong hands, but from the looks of this trailer, it seems like a good 'un. And just for good measure, let's look at the cast: Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, to name but a few.
SEEK AND YE SHALL ROCK

PEER-TO-PEER music sites are not something I usually recommend, as a great believer in supporting musicians and their efforts – but Soulseek is a wee bit special. Most music swap sites are full of chart dross or whatever passes for cool in the NME, but Soulseek's users have vastly more interesting record collections. You're just as likely to find obscure No Wave New York bands as old Nirvana outtakes or the latest Vampire Weekend release.

NIRVANA, the untold story? A wonderful little short that I think really catches the flavour of the band's Mayfly existence – especially the Courtney-as-table-dancer bit – not sure why they're mucking around with saws and bicycle pumps at the beginning though.
