Tsunami warning after Pacific quake
A TSUNAMI warning was issued for the Samoa islands, New Zealand, Tonga, Fiji and other Pacific islands, after a powerful earthquake yesterday.
The 7.9-magnitude quake hit just before 6pm GMT, at a depth of 33km (20 miles). Its epicentre was about 190km south-west of Samoa.
