Ten killed in train crash at Indian station

India: A speeding passenger train rammed into another waiting near Mathura station in northern India early today, killing at least ten people and trapping several others in mangled compartments. Workers had to use gas-cutting machines to reach trapped passengers.

Brazil: The death toll from this week's intense gang combat in Rio de Janeiro is up to 25 after authorities found more bodies.

A police helicopter was downed by gunfire as gangs fought for territory, killing three officers.
