Sweden to open Abba museum

A MUSEUM devoted to pop supergroup Abba is to open next year in Swedish capital Stockholm.

It will feature memorabilia such as stage costumes worn by the singers in a Hall of Fame to Swedish pop. Visitors will be able to sing along to Abba songs alongside lifesize holograms.

“Swedish pop is an important part of our cultural heritage,” said former Abba member Björn Ulvaeus, “And Abba is one of our most well-known brands.”

Abba – who took their name from the initials of the band members, Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid Lyngstad – shot to fame when they won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Waterloo.
