Suspect arrested over island terror plot

CYPRUS: The authorities have detained a man on suspicion of being involved in planning a terrorist attack on the Mediterranean island, a police spokesman said.

The spokesman confirmed the arrest but declined to identify the suspect, the level of his alleged involvement in the plot and what the intended target would have been.

The spokesman said disclosure of any further details could compromise an ongoing investigation.
