Six police officers hurt in bomb blast

TURKEY: An explosion close to a police shooting range has injured ten officers, it was reported yesterday.

Private television station NTV said the explosion occurred in Van a day after prime minister Tayyip Erdogan visited the eastern city. The cause of the explosion is not yet known, but Kurdish rebels who are fighting for self-rule have targeted police with bombings in the past.
