Six children die after playing with grenade

SIX children died and one man was injured yesterday in Honduras when a hand grenade that the youngsters had found and were playing with exploded, police reported.

The explosion occurred in the town of El Naranjal, about 75 miles north-west of the capital Tegucigalpa.

"The children were handling the military ordinance when it blew up," said spokesman Sgt Marco Antonio Lopez.

The victims were all members of the same family.
