Seven militants die in shelling of city

Kenya’s navy has begun shelling Somalia’s port town of Kismayo, the remaining significant stronghold of al-Shabaab, the al-Qaeda-linked militants, in preparation for the ground forces to capture the town, a Kenyan military official said yesterday.

Seven people believed to be militants were killed in the shelling of several targets.
