Russia has praise for Belarus election
Russia has praised Belarus’ parliamentary election, which has strengthened the grip of authoritarian president Alexander Lukashenko and was dismissed as a sham in Europe and the United States, which have imposed sanctions.
“We are certain Belarussian citizens were able to make their conscious choice,” the Russian foreign ministry said.
